- What is CAS ?
CAS stands for Conditional Access System. CAS enables all able television subscribers to choose & pay only for those channels which they want to watch . To safe guard consumer rights , Government of India has made mandatory for all pay channels to be transmitted through the Set Top Box (STB) in CAS notified zones . The tariff for pay channels are being regulated by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The current rate set is @ Rs. 5/- Per Pay Channel (For more details please refer TRAI site , www.trai.govt.in)
- Which are CAS notified zones in India ?
The areas currently notified as CAS zones are South Mumbai , South Delhi , South Kolkata and complete Chennai city.
- What are the advantage of CAS to the consumer ?
The Right to choose his own set of channels .

- What is Set Top Box (STB) ?
Set Top Box is a small instrument that attaches itself on top of your TV . It acts as a decryptor for the signals from your cable operator and converts them into moving pictures , which is digital quality .
- Will the consumers monthly bill go up with CAS ?
Consumer has now freedom to decide his own monthly bills depending on the number of pay channels one choose to view in different genres. In fact , the bills may actually reduce if you opt for less number of channels.
- How do I subscribe for SITI STB services ?
Call your cable operator or SITI helpline and place your request .
Fill up the STB agreement form , Choose options for STB 1) Rental scheme 2) Outright purchase .
Fill up the channels subscription form with your choice of pay channels .
Make payments for the STB & Channel subscription.The STB will be installed within 48 working hours & channels will be activated as per your choice .
- Is there any additional cost the consumer has to pay ?
There is no Activation or installation charges , it is all free
- What are the additional services the consumer is entitled for ?
The consumer gets detailed monthly bill .

Complaints will be addressed within 8 hours of the receipt of the complaint .
- Do I need different STB for different TV sets ?
Yes . STB is like a mobile handset with one connection .
- Does installation need extra cabling ?
No. The STB would work on your existing cable connection & turn your TV to a new entertainment experience . STB also acts as a channel expander and you can view up to 300 to 400 channels even in your old model TV set .

- Is SITI Digital Cable and DTH the same ?
No, the basic difference between the two is that with DTH (Direct to Home ) you need to install a dish outside your houose and a STB on top of your TV . Whereas to get digital cable you only need a Set Top Box that you can place on top of your TV . Yes , no dish required .
